TORONTO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–To mark the start of Developmental Services Appreciation Week on June 19, workers from across Ontario will hold a rally at the office of the Minister of Children, Community, and Social Services. Representing over 20,000 developmental service workers across the province, the Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU/SEFPO) and the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE Ontario) have launched a campaign to raise awareness about this overworked and unacknowledged sector. The campaign – It’s Life Changing Work – calls for Minister Michael Parsa to ensure that these skilled and dedicated frontline workers have the resources needed to provide the quality services Ontarians deserve.
