Inspired by the book “Extreme Ownership: How U.S. Navy Seals Lead and Win” by Jocko Willink and Leif Babin, future leaders in FINFROCK’s manufacturing department are learning how to develop high performance teams and that leadership at every level is the most important factor in whether a team succeeds or fails. The 10-week class offered to peer-nominated employees teaches leadership principles learned “on the battlefield” that parallel leadership in the business world, including how to “own” mistakes and use them as lessons, stay focused on the mission and develop a plan to accomplish it.
“The principles and concepts described in the `Extreme Ownership’ book are spot on in terms of what we look for in our leaders,” explained John Blanchard, EVP of Manufacturing and Air Force veteran. “The primary goal of the course is to teach management principles based on team-oriented thinking.
