Theme: Exchange for Persons Concerned for Tourism

Country: Timor-Leste

TOKYO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Seventeen youths from Timor-Leste, who are in Tourism industry, are scheduled to visit Japan from October 29th to November 6th as part of the Japan’s Friendship Ties Programs “JENESYS 2019” promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA).

The group will visit Tokyo and Gifu Prefecture to have opportunities of international exchange under the theme of “Exchange for Persons Concerned for Tourism – Initiative for Tourism-Oriented country”. In Tokyo, they will have a theme-related lecture, and observe Edo Tokyo Museum. In Gifu, they will have an opportunity to exchange opinions on the theme with students of Gifu University, visit Gero City, which is promoting Eco-Tourism, and will home stay exchange at Gujo City, Hachiman area. The program aims to deepen their understanding of Japanese initiatives on Tourism-Oriented Country through people in tourism industry and promote friendship between Japan and Timor-Leste.

Through this program, we hope it ties the relationship between Japan and Timor-Leste and the participants in this program will proactively share the appeals of Japan and other information after returning to Timor-Leste.

People with the ability and future mission to deliver messages between Japan and the countries and regions of Asia and Oceania are invited and dispatched in order to promote an understanding of Japan with regard to politics, economics, society, culture, history, foreign policy, and the like, and pro-Japanese people and experts on Japan are discovered in order to strengthen Japan’s message to other countries and expand Japan’s diplomatic foundation by having the guests and dispatches take the initiative to spread information about the diplomatic stance, appeals, and other facets of Japan.
